Welcome to Something Savored
A curated collection of places and experiences worth savoring, in London and beyond
Hello and welcome! I’m so glad that you’re here. I’m Julianna, a 30-something, curious, creative, and multi-hyphenate American expat residing in London.

For the past decade, I've dreamed of creating a space to share the things that bring joy and spark inspiration in my life. I find great fulfillment in curating and sharing my personally collected finds to enrich the travel experiences and lives of others and I hope to use this platform to do just that.
Since studying in Italy in 2012, when I kept a personal blog documenting my time abroad, I've started and stopped this venture more times than I can count. Nothing quite stuck for one reason or another. In fact, this very draft sat unposted for 6 months. It's safe to say I've hit my limit on thinking without doing. So, here we are. I already feel better a few sentences in.
Since those first inklings in Italy, life has taken many unexpected yet welcomed turns. Over the past decade, I've explored Europe extensively, pivoted careers from full-time employment to freelancing after a period of intense burnout, embraced creative entrepreneurship as an accessories designer/maker and small business owner, and moved from Boston to London amidst the pandemic in 2020. Now, I'm excited to channel my passions and experiences into this.
A creator at heart, I’ve been on what feels like a constant journey of self-exploration, staying curious and open to new experiences through my travels and early 30s. In this finding of my footing, one thing has always remained steadfast: an unrelenting desire to create and share more - through what now has a name and is called Something Savored.
The name came to me one evening in July 2022 during dinner on the Isle of Wight, where my husband and I had escaped London's heatwave. It felt like the perfect vessel to bring all of the pieces together. My nonlinear path and varied interests started to make sense under the umbrella of Something Savored, encapsulating my lifelong passion for travel and discovery. To me, travel isn't just about far-off destinations; it's a mindset that enables us to gain perspective and fully inhabit each moment.
This philosophy has been a constant thread throughout my life. I've long been a resource for friends and family seeking travel advice, always eager to share my insight. In my spare time, I love planning 'someday' trips, perusing Google Flights, and researching different destinations. My Google Maps is pinned to a degree that might send some into panic, but it's resulted in experiencing some special spots no matter where I am, whether that’s at home in London or somewhere else.
I envision Something Savored as a place where I can help others authentically and intentionally experience London and beyond. I’ll share through the lens of my personal passions: art, design, food, nature, and wellness, and championing small businesses. Together, I hope that we can uncover new experiences, find inspiration in unexpected places, and perhaps discover a fresh perspective along the way.
Thank you for being here and for helping me bring forth what was a secret dream for way, way too long. If any of this resonated, you’re in the right place. No more ‘what-ifs,’ only a ‘let’s see how this goes.’
xx
Julianna
